Elizabeth Chicoine Eldridge, 93, formerly of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully at her home in Boothbay, Maine on Wednesday April 6, 2016. At her bedside were her children, Phoebe A. Eldridge of Newark, Delaware, Matthew V. Eldridge of Boothbay, Maine, Elizabeth Po-Yan Eldridge of Canton, Ohio and Jonathan O. Eldridge of Brattleboro, Vermont. Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband, John E. Eldridge, as well as her sisters, Ruth Walsh and Faith Gagnier, and her brother, David Chicoine.

Elizabeth enjoyed a lifetime love of teaching and bringing the joy of reading to children. She was also very active in her church, civil rights issues, and let’s not forget her love of singing.

The family will be having a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please give donations in Elizabeth’s name to The Boothbay Memorial Library, Four Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor, Maine 04538.
