Condolence: My fondest memories of Aunt Thelma and Uncle Charlie go way back to the preparations being made for food at their wedding shower. I was about three and a half, but I can still remember the excitement at my grandparents house in Friendship and the carnival glass dishes that great Grammy Carter gave them. The next memory is of Aunt Thelma playing the piano in the gramma's living room that also served as their bedroom for a time. She played a certain song each night for her dear one who was off to war. Next memories are at their house on Route 90. How I loved to go there even though Uncle Charlie tortured me by making me giggle so hard that I wet my pants more than once. I remember having popcorn and doing puzzles with her - how she sorted all the pieces by color. She did one every night while Uncle Charlie was at work. I remember her having fudge and how she saved some for Uncle Charlie up in the cupboard - whenever we were having something special she was sure that he got some. And then there were the little golden books that she collected each week for their children when they went shopping - Uncle Charlie called it 'trading' - I loved reading those books. She read to her little ones every night.
When I got married and didn't know what to say to my visitors, she taught me how to be hospitable, make folks feel comfortable and share part of my life in conversation. Before she went to the Methodist Home, she stayed a few days with Paul and me. She mentioned how we had been friends for so many years. I was pleased to be considered her friend in addition to being her niece. She was my all time favorite Aunt and I look forward to seeing her in Paridise.

Condolence: To my dear friends, Please except my thoughts and prayers at the passing of a wonderful, dear lady. I have so many memories of her growing up and again in the most recent years. When ever I saw her she said 'where is my hug?' We are both huggers and she gave the best. I will miss seeing her at the suppers. She is with vera and Charlie now and no more pain. Always remember that as long as she lives in your heart, she will always be with you. I will always remember her smile.

God Be with you and wrap His arms around you and give you peace.
Love Pat
