Obituary for Dana R. Foster

Dana R. Foster
Dana R. Foster, 54 of Oakland, passed away after a long illness on September 11, 2016 at Inland Hospital in Waterville. Born in Rockland on February 2, 1962, he was the son of Robert S. and Hilma J. Foster. He was educated in Waldoboro schools and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1980.

Dana loved sports, especially baseball, and played Little League on the Bears and later played Babe Ruth baseball. He also played on his high school team. The Red Sox and the Patriots were his all time sports favorites. Dana was also an early CB radio enthusiast and remained so all of his life.

He was an animal lover and always had cats. He often took in cats that otherwise would not have survived.

Dana worked many years at Electro Tec in Rockland, a job that he loved. However, he sustained a neck injury and reluctantly had to leave that position. He loved lawn sales and enjoyed buying and selling items, especially those of the electronic variety.

Dana moved to Waterville area later in life and made many friends. He especially enjoyed the Waterville Social Club and the folks that he met there.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Stubbs and granddaughter, Breylynn; his parents, Robert and Hilma Foster of Waldoboro, his companion, Audrey Cates of Oakland; four siblings, Karen Goyet and husband Michael of Saco, Paul Foster of Wiscasset, Lelia Dyer and husband Dana of Waldoboro, Jeanette Belanger of Augusta and nine nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the German Cemetery, 235 Bremen Road, Route 32, in Waldoboro. Donations may be made to the animal shelter of choice, in lieu of flowers.

Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle for Dana, or to share a story or pictures, visit his Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
