Condolence: I am another old Draper friend - I never worked with Jack I only participated in fun sports and the muddy and one whitewater canoe trip where me and my partner fell out and it was Jack who came out to save me stuck on a rock in the middle of the river. I pictured a helecopter coming out for me because I was glued to the rock with eyes like silver dollars. When Jack finally came out the water was just passed his knees and he just laughed at me. He was really a load of fun over the years always with a big smile and some great stories. He was also very kind to his old chocolate lab who slept under his desk at work during the day. He will be missed by many - he made an impact on many many lives - he was a vibrant soul.

Condolence: Leona, Please accept condolences from Kent and me. You and Jack had so many adventures together, and we loved hearing about them. Jack certainly was a person who loved life, and we know what a loss his passing must be for you. It was special for me to connect with a long lost distant cousin, if only briefly. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Erna

Condolence: Jack was a long time friend. He orignally worked for Raytheon, but came over to Draper Lab. He was a Thermal Design expert and worked a number of Navy submarine missile guidance systems such as Poseidon and Trident. Jack worked for me. I was the Trident Program Engineering Manager. Jack and I were white water canoe partners cruising the Maine and New Hampshire rivers. We played many games off cut-throat handball just about every night after work at the MIT courts. Afterwards we would rehydrate at the Muddy Charles Pub, a grad student watering hole that sold beer by the pitcher. Jack being a thermal engr would double his plastic cups with a napkin between as an insulator. Just his way but he drank the beer before it ever got warm-but that was his ritual. Jack was always a good humor guy telling stories of hunting and snowmobiling-never could believe all of them, but they certainly made everyone hold their sides laughing. Jack never lost his roots in Maine He tried to get me to buy into Jackman, but I was afraid we’d drink ourselves to death. I spent some good times at his home in Southboro,Ma. We helped Jimmy Thys .our technician build an A frame up in New Hampshire. I retired in 1995, but Jack stayed on for a few more years. Jack was a devoted engineer, a guy I could trust with my life and certainly a great friend . It is a very sad day for me. My condolences to Lee. RIP JACK
