Obituary for Wallace C Abbott

Wallace C. “Wally” Abbott 57, of Edgecomb, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 20, 2016. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Folland) Abbott with whom he shared eighteen years of marriage.

He was the son of the late Frank and Betty Plummer Abbott and was raised in Boothbay. He attended Boothbay Schools, and served in the United States Air Force. He was employed by Cooks Concrete for many years. He also was a handyman doing carpentry, plumbing and heating. He was caring, and a “jack of all trades” and was always there to lend a hand to family and friends in need. Wally had a creative mind especially when it came to cooking and enjoyed spending time making his own creations for his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Jamie Jo Webb and Corey Jo McGee both of Texas. Two step-children, Shawn and Kalina Provost of Edgecomb and four grandchildren, Lexie Webb, Elijah and Evey McGee of Texas and Larissa Provost of Edgecomb. He is also survived by three brothers; Edward Abbott and James Abbott both of Wiscasset, Dana Quelette of Texas, and two sisters; Darlene French of Wiscasset, and Susan Walker of Freeport. Several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Wally will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Oceanview Cemetery in Boothbay at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations or contributions may be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation, 170 US Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME. 04105.

Hall’s of Boothbay has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle for Wally or to share a story or pictures, please visit his Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
