Obituary for Janet L. Neubig

Janet L. Neubig
Janet L. (Winchenbach) Neubig, 72, passed away on May 6, 2017 at the Sussman House in Rockport with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late John Neubig with whom she shared fifty years of marriage.

She was born in Rockland on September 22, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Maynard and Evelyn (Wallace) Winchenbach. Janet attended elementary school in Auburn and Friendship and was a graduate of Waldoboro High School class of 1961. She also attended Gorham State Teacher’s College.

Janet worked for Friendship Trap Company, Cushing Mussel Company and as a bank teller for Waldoboro Bank and Sylvania in Waldoboro. She enjoyed playing country music on the accordion and the guitar, reading books and playing cards. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, roller skating, dancing, bowling, picking berries throughout the summer months, picnicking on Friendship Long Island and especially loved shopping in Wal-Mart for hours on end.

Above all Janet cherished any activity with her family and Freddy her dog. They were her greatest joy in life and she loved them dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, David J. Neubig and his fiancée, Renee Belyea of Friendship and Dwayne M. Neubig and his wife, Rachelle also of Friendship; grandson, Joshua J. Neubig and step-granddaughter, Madelyn Myrick both of Friendship; brothers, Gary Winchenbach and his wife, Joanne of Gardiner and Kendall Winchenbach and his wife, Bette of Bangor; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Dillingham of Litchfield; two dear friends, Dottie Simmons of Friendship and Yana Neubig and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held for Janet on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, in Waldoboro at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be privately held.

Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, please visit, www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
