Obituary for Martha Winchenbach Boggs

Martha Winchenbach Boggs of Waldoboro, age 100, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2017. The Town of Waldoboro dedicated the Town Report in 2012 to her for all she had done over the years. She was a dedicated member of the Waldoboro Community Garden Club who worked tirelessly to replace the Dutch Elm trees that were destroyed by disease with the trees that now line the towns streets. She was also active in the Waldoborough Historical Society, and the Methodist Church. She is a native of Waldoboro and both sides of her family settled here in the 1700’s. The old Boggs schoolhouse, moved from North Waldoboro to the Waldoborough Historical Society Museum is named for her husbands family.

She is predeceased by her husband, George C. Boggs, her parents, Alton and Nettie (McLain) Winchenbach, sister Sadie Little, and brothers Eugene and James.

She is survived by a son Robert Boggs and his wife Mary of Ormond Beach, Florida; grandchildren Kevin and Sean; great-grandchildren Mitchell and Angela and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
