Obituary for Timothy Sandblom

Timothy Sandblom, 59, died unexpectedly in Fort Pierce, Florida on June 2nd, 2017. Tim was born in Damariscotta on April 19, 1958, to William A. Sandblom and E. Hope Sandblom.. Tim grew up in Friendship, attended local schools and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1976. Upon graduation Tim joined the U.S.Navy, serving four years aboard the U.S.S. Edson. He was honorably discharged with the rating of Petty Officer Second Class. Tim worked at the Dragon Cement Plant for many years, before leaving due to service-related disabilities.

Tim was an ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan, and will be remembered for his sense of humor - he always claimed that his greatest disappointment was "being cut from the Patriots' roster."

Tim was predeceased by his parents, brother William A. Sandblom Jr., and sister Lynn Sandblom.

He is survived by sisters Pamela (Ken) Lutte of New Harbor, Hope (Mike) Hilton of Nobleboro, Meredith Anderson of Rockland, and brothers Richard (Joy) Sandblom of Friendship, John (Alison) Sandblom of Stow, MA. and David Sandblom of Friendship, and also many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at the Harbor Cemetery in Friendship. The family requests that any donations in Tim's memory be made to the Friendship Ambulance Auxiliary Foundation, PO Box 40, Friendship, ME 04547.
