Obituary for Claudette M Townsend (Bouchard)

Claudette M Townsend (Bouchard)
Claudette M. Townsend, 83, passed away at the home of her sister Marguerite Easler on Tuesday, March 27th 2018 in Ellsworth, ME. Claudette was born on November 23, 1935 in Old Town, ME to her parents John Bouchard and Elizabeth Bishop Bouchard.

Claudette attended local schools and graduated from Old Town High School. After marrying her sweetheart John they settled in Thomaston where they raised their children. Besides her duties as a wife and mother Claudette worked at the Courier Gazette for many years, as well as working at Mammoth Mart then on to Wal-Mart where she would travel and set up the new stores for them.

She and John never missed a soccer game at Georges Valley High School as well as the games coached by their son Darryl and even attended his college soccer games. Family was very important to Claudette. The family says that Claudette was always willing to “take care of” everyone’s kids. Spending time with her grandchildren was always extra special for Claudette as they enjoyed having some of grams “Sweet Treats”. Claudette’s favorite treats were anything chocolate. When she wasn’t taking care of kids, and doing housework one of her favorite past times was doing Jig-saw Puzzles, sometimes for hours!

She and John were married for 44 years until his passing in 2006.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, and her son Glenn Jordan.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons Darryl Townsend (Heidi) of Warren, Maine, Stephen Jordan (Robin) of Minnesota, her daughters, Christine Wilson (Gary) of Warren, ME, Janelle Pratt of ME.And Cheryl Glandon of Texas. She is also survived by her sisters Marguerite Easler (Guy) of Ellsworth, ME, Patricia Kane (Walter) of Surry, ME, and Mona Gallant of ME.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; Drew, Sam and Grace Townsend, Travis & Jessica Wilson, Nicole & Mickayla Pratt, Shannon, Meredith, Lauren, Brittany & Adrianna Jordan, Joshua & Seth Niles, Micah Glandon, along with Jessica & Sarah Jordan, her great grandchildren, many nieces , nephews and friends.

The family extends much appreciation to her sister Marguerite for all the loving care given to Claudette during the past few years.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6th, 2018 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at 150 Broadway, Rockland, Maine with Rev. Robert Vaillancourt as celebrant.
