Obituary for Shirley Louise Caywood

Shirley Louise Caywood, age 89 of Niantic, Connecticut died peacefully, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter, Terry-Anne Paquette in Hope Maine on May 8th, 2018.

She was born Shirley Louise Silberman of August 25th, 1928 in Providence R.I. to Harry and Ethel (Ford) Silberman.

She leaves behind two sons, Ted Paquette of Niantic, CT, and Harry David Paquette of Cocoa, FL, two daughters, Terry-Anne Paquette of Hope ME and Linda Shepard and her husband John Shepard of Union, ME, three grandchildren, Valerie Shepard of Rockland, ME, Brianna Shepard of Bellingham, WA and Elizebeth Paquette of Middletown CT, as well as her best and dearest friend Edith Bonser of Waterford, CT.

She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Gisele Paquette, a brother Edward Silberman and husbands, John Caywood and Ted Paquette.

She retired after 11 years at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London in the Neurodiagnostic Department where she worked as an EEG technician.

Shirley will be remembered for her love of adventure, music and travel as she maintained a youthful, easy going and fun loving presence throughout her life.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Somers and NE Cardiology and Dr. Jay Graves for their long time medical support, and Marianthe Andrews and Maine Health Hospice Care.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 17th from 11am to 3pm. at McCooks Beach Park in Niantic, CT.
