Obituary for Richard J Donlin

Richard J. Donlin passed away on the morning of December 18, 2019 at his home in Warren, Maine.

Richard was born on August 14, 1948 and grew up in New Britain, Connecticut. He attended New Britain High School where he was a star offensive tackle on the Capital District Champion football team. He also attended the University of Massachusetts -Amherst on a football scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology.

Richard married his wife Patricia Mulhall in 1972 and soon after they moved to mid-coast Maine to start their family and a landscaping business which eventually became Richard J Donlin Landscaping. For over 30 years Richard worked with both residential and commercial customers, across the state planting hundreds of trees and flowers among other amazing projects. He loved his family, the Cleveland Browns, the Boston Red Sox, the music of Bob Seger and Bill Chinook, gardening with Patricia and going to the beach as often as possible.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Harriet Donlin. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Donlin of Warren; his daughters Sarah Donlin and Catherine Donlin both of Portland, Maine; his son Christopher Donlin, and wife Andrea, their children Kevin, Kyle, Kayla, Kory and Kollin of Warren, Maine; his brother Robert Donlin and wife Casey of Essex, Connecticut; his sister-in-law Beth Hyler of Cushing, Maine; brother-in-law Edward Mulhall of New Britain, Connecticut and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

A funeral mass for Richard will be held on January 11, 2020 at 11am at St Bernard's Church in Rockland, Maine with Father Robert Vaillancourt officiating.
