Gregory was a very unique baby. He rarely cried out to let us know he was awake. On most mornings he could be found quietly playing with toys in the crib or just looking around. As soon as your eyes met his big gorgeous blue eyes, an easy grin would come across his little face. Within a couple years, with those same big blue eyes and that same grin, you would find him most mornings jumping off his big sisters top bunk into a pile of stuffed animals and pillows. This was the beginning of many years of evil kenevil stunts. It went from jumping makeshift game board ramps in the house with his big wheel, to jumping wooden ramps on his big boy bike in the driveway. If it had wheels he jumped a ramp with it. In the Winter time, if it went over snow or ice, he was on it and yes a ramp would be utilized. With the evil kenevil stunts came the injuries. Stitches and broken bones a many. As a teen ager he would come home after a dirt bike adventure with a fat lipped smile and a limp. No matter how many talks about the dangers and the pain he endured you could be sure as the sun would rise and fall, there was another adventure in his future.

But most of all he could make you laugh until your stomach hurt and tears stream from your eyes. You could be quietly sitting in a room with him and he would just come up with some random joke or statement. As his mother, I knew him well enough that I could see a joke brewing. He'd get that look in his eyes and that half grin and you knew that when he opens his mouth hold on to your seat and bladder because you are going to laugh like you've never laughed before. I told him he should be a comedian and make some big bucks because I'm pretty certain he owed me about a million dollars in medical expenses.

But on the other hand you can sit and talk for hours with him. When he was serious his whole vocabulary would change and you can almost feel what he's saying. He wore his heart on his sleeve and had no problem telling you what he thought. Not sure where he got that....

He loved animals. I can't tell you the number of creatures he brought home. He wanted to care for, raise and even save any animal that crossed his path. I have the privilege of now caring and raising Gregory's beloved pitbull Nugget. I have to say he is the most well behaved and gentle dog I have ever met. Gregory did good by him. Greg and Nugget left Maine two years ago on their way across country. Greg could hold Nugget in his arms. The two traveled through 38 states together and ended in California for a while. In June the two set out back to Maine, having to stop for a couple weeks on the way because,...dog like master, nugget thought he could jump over a 50 ft drop and fell short. Nugget hurt his leg. As soon as Nugget was able the two made it to Maine July 11th. Gregory's short hair was long. His smooth baby face sported a very good attempted at a go-t and nugget was huge. But those big blue eyes and his ability to make you laugh till it hurts was the same.
