Obituary for Richard Joseph Isabel Sr.

Richard J. Isabel Sr., 71, passed away peacefully at the Gosnell Memorial House in Scarborough on Thursday February 14, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born and raised in Bridgewater, MA on April 26, 1941 to the late Joseph Isabel and Mary Munise Isabel. . From his parents, he learned the importance of self-reliance and hard work, perhaps this is what set him on a life-long path of successful self-employment and entrepreneurship.
In addition to running several businesses in Massachusetts, Richard founded Alcove Auto in Warren, Maine; R.J. Isabel Construction in Waldoboro; and lastly, Tinky's Seafood where he worked along side his wife Patricia dealing clams throughout New England
He lived long enough to fulfill one of his dreams of having a small farm with horses and cattle.
He loved spending time with his family at the home he shared with Patricia and his two Golden Doodles , Ralph and Beatrice.
In his younger days , he could be found dancing at Echo Hill with Patricia and various family members. For other entertainment , he enjoyed watching Western movies or playing cards.
For his last birthday on earth in April of 2012, family gathered, many traveling from out of state, to celebrate with him. He cherished this memory and frequently reflected on it in his final days.

Although he wasn’t a religious man he did come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
