Obituary for
Anthony Raymond "Tony" Zaccadelli Jr.
Tony Zacadelli Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 21, 2013 at the Togus VA Center in Augusta, Me surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 5, 1939 in Quincy, MA the son of the late Anthony Raymond Zacadelli Sr., and Martha Kimbell.
He grew up in Quincy, MA and Medomak, Me and was a graduate of Waldoboro High School Class of 1958. After high school he joined the Navy where he proudly served his country for four years. During his time in the Navy he was able to travel the globe. After leaving the armed forces he returned to Maine where he would work for a few years as a merchant marine before working at GTE Sylvania and then finally began to work for himself as he opened Zaccadelli Auto body a job he would have for over 50 years.
He enjoyed being around the water. When he was younger he had a few different cabin cruisers that he would work on and fix up. He also enjoyed clamming. When the boys were younger they would spend a few weeks camping on Damariscotta Lake a family tradition they would hold for ten years. He loved to water ski, and was probably the only person that could accomplish such a task and not get wet. He would stand on the dock and be whisked away by the boat and when he was done the boat would come in close and he would ski right back onto the wharf. A trick many people tried to emulate but none succeeded. He liked riding dirt bikes and motorcycles with the boys and was quite the dare devil. He also enjoyed racing at the Wiscasset Speedway and was one of the most agile drivers many people had ever seen. The boys remember the time he jumped the fire pit but didn’t quite make it. He was a family man through and through. He was loyal and faithful, a true friend when you needed one. He loved his family and made sure to instill in them how important family really was.
At Tony’s request there will be no funeral services.
