Obituary for Jesse T. Erskine

Jesse T. Erskine
Jesse T. Erskine, 31, died unexpectedly on June 16, 2016. Jesse was born in Boothbay Harbor on January 2, 1985 to Thomas Erskine and Bonnie (Peaslee) Erskine. He graduated from Boothbay Region High School, Class of 2003, where he played basketball and football for the Seahawks. He was one of only two athletes in the history of the school to win three gold balls: two for football and one in basketball. Jesse went on to Mount Ida College in Massachusetts where he played NCAA basketball for the Mount Ida Mustangs.

Jesse worked as a mason, landscaper and carpenter in the Boothbay region. He had a great love for all sports, both watching and playing. Jesse loved fishing, hunting and recently went sky diving. He always loved a challenge. He loved and was very good with all animals, only recently saving a baby skunk and turtle from harm’s way.

Jesse is survived by his parents, Thomas and Bonnie Erskine, his brother, Justin T. Erskine of Chicago, IL, his maternal grandmother, Sandra Peaslee of Boothbay, and his girlfriend, Winter Page of Boothbay Harbor. Jesse is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jesse was predeceased by his grandfathers, Aubrey Peaslee and Thomas Erskine, his grandmother, Norma Erskine, and his beloved dog, Tiger.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 20, 2016, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, Maine. A Celebration of Jesse’s life will take place on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Boothbay Opera House, 86 Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, from 1 to 3 o’clock in the afternoon. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jesse’s memory to the Underhound Railroad c/o Renee Coombs, Nine Bay Woods Rd., Bristol ME 04539
Hall’s of Boothbay has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle for Jesse, or to share a story or pictures, visit his Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
