Obituary for Frank Elmer Jones Sr.

Frank E. Jones, Sr., 76, died January 2, 2018 at Country Manor in Coopers Mills with his family by his side. He was born on January 14, 1941 to Elmer Jones and Marion (Brown) Jones in Augusta, Maine.

Frank was a graduate of Union High School, in the Class of 1959. He worked construction and in the woods all his life. He attended the South Liberty Baptist Church and also was a Deacon at the Church. He was a member of the Union Church of Nazarene. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of the Washington Fire Department where he served as Captain. Frank was cheerful, happy, a hard worker, out-going and would do anything for anyone that needed help.

Frank is predeceased by his parents and brother, Alvah Jones.

He is survived by his wife Joyce N. Jones of Washington, sons Frank E. Jones, Jr. (Kathleen) of Washington, Steven Jones (Penny) of Washington, James Jones (Toni) of Washington and Daniel Jones, Sr. (Elaine) of Washington, daughters Cynthia Peaslee of Pittston and Carol Kilbreth (John) of Washington, and sister Betty Baker of Hermon, 16 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street in Waldoboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. also at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street in Waldoboro, with Pastor Mark Holden officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Mount Olivet Lodge of Masons, #203, 48 Liberty Road in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s name may be made to the Washington Fire Department, c/o Town of Washington, P.O. Box 408, Washington, Maine 04574.
