Obituary for Kenneth W. Sevon

Kenneth W. Sevon
Kenneth “Sonny” W. Sevon, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at the Sussman House in Rockport, Maine.

Sonny was born on February 28th, 1940 in Camden, Maine to parents Kenneth A. Sevon and Florence (Dunlop) Sevon. Sonny attended local schools and like most children he would rather been outdoors playing and exploring than sitting inside the house.

Sonny’s love of the water started when he became a sternman for a local lobsterman and then became a great and loyal employee demonstrating that by working for Atwood Brothers Lobster Company for over 30 years. Sonny then worked for many years at the Great Eastern Mussel Co. in St. George. Sonny’s family says- They don’t ever remember a time when Sonny wasn’t working. When he retired he was known as the neighborhood “handyman”… his willingness to help all his neighbors will be sorely missed.

Being a man of faith, Sonny was never afraid to “quote a few bible verses.” He will be remembered as dependable, very helpful and had an even keeled attitude.

One of Sonny’s favorite past times was attending the weekly car races at the Wiscasset Raceway. He also loved to walk on his road where he would always strike up conversations with the neighbors and created many lifelong friendships. The highlight of his day was having his cup of coffee with his sister Sandra Lavoie whom he considered to be his best friend.

Sonny was pre-deceased by his parents, his brother Jim Sevon and his infant brother William James Sevon. He is survived by his sister Sandra Lavoie of Cushing, Maine along with many nieces, nephews and many, many friends who will forever miss him.

A graveside service for Sonny will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. when he will be laid to rest beside his loving parents in the Village Cemetery, Erin Street, Thomaston, Maine.

Hall’s of Thomaston has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences please visit www.hallfuneralhomes.com
