Obituary for Keenan Robert Jones

Keenan R. Jones, 53, died February 12, 2018 at his home in Waldoboro. He was born March 6, 1964 in Racine, Wisconsin to John D. Jones and Anne C. Pinkney. He graduated from Medomak Valley High School class of 1982. After High School he earned an Associates degree in Marine Engineering.

He worked for over 30 years in Marine industry, and was known for the guy you could count on to fix anything on the barges and tug boats he worked on. He was a talented woodworker, and owned his own woodworking business. He wrote poetry over the years that his family enjoyed greatly. He was an aficionado of Rock-n- Roll music. He was a very passionate person who loved his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors, and was very knowledgeable in astronomy. He enjoyed showing his family and friends all of the different star formations.

He also enjoyed reading, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics and loved watching it with his family.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Katie Stevens; and a brother, Kent Roberts.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Jones of Waldoboro and son John Jones of Waldoboro, brothers, Jay Jones and his companion Bernice Geiseman of Warren, Jeff Roberts and wife Barbara Hyle of Largo FL, sisters, Allison Andrade and husband Mitch of Washington, Jenny Jones of Colorado, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation from 4 to 6 PM, Saturday, February 17 at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro. A service to celebrate Keenan’s life will be held at 1 PM February 18 at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery in Waldoboro.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Keenan’s memory for the benefit of the John Jones College Fund, c/o Camden National Bank, 1768 Atlantic Highway, Waldoboro, Maine 04572.
