Obituary for Marilyn P Tibbetts

Marilyn P. Tibbetts, 86, died August 8th at St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor. She was born January 3, 1932 in Boothbay Harbor to Luther Pinkham and Laura Gilpatrick Pinkham. Marilyn grew up in Boothbay Harbor and graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School in the class of 1949.
She married Leon Tibbetts on January 7, 1950. Together they owned and operated the Broken Anchor Fish Market in the 1960’s and the business grew into the Broken Anchor Restaurant in the 1970’s. Marilyn enjoyed working and seeing all of the people who stopped to eat or visit. She enjoyed music, going to dances, and spending quality time with her dear family and friends. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles with her dear friend, Jane Hutchins.
She was a member of the Boothbay Harbor United Methodist Church, and the Susanna Wesley women’s group at the church. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leon Tibbetts; sisters, Marion Jones,Bessy Emerson,Estella Kelly,Lydia Simpson, Gail Simmons; brothers, Bradford, Kenneth and Henry Pinkham.
She is survived by her son, David Tibbetts of Boothbay Harbor
Daughter, Lauretta Davis of Shirley Mills
Grandchildren, Evelyn Leigh Tibbetts of Boothbay Harbor

Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, August 13th at Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road in Boothbay.
