Obituary for Jacqueline W. Mason

Jacqueline W. Mason " Jackie ", 92, went to be with her Lord on Saturday November 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 8, 1926 to parents Marcus A. and Edna Wolff in Newark, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Glen Ridge, New Jersey High School.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Mason Jr., her parents Marcus and Edna Wolff, and her brother Marcus A. Wolff III. Jackie is survived by brothers and their wives, Dr. Bruce R. Wolff and Gayle of Greenville, Pennsylvania and Wallace Wolff and Karin of Westminster, Maryland. She is also survived by her six children: Edna and her husband Dan Scott of Eddington, Maine, Glenn Mason of Simsbury, Connecticut, Carol Bartlett and her husband Paul of S. Portland, Maine, Dr. Joseph Mason and his wife Debbie of Verona, New Jersey, Doug Mason and his wife Kelley of Cumberland, Maine, and David Mason and his wife Heidi of Farmington, Connecticut. Jackie was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Jackie’s passion was being “Nana” to her 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren. A job that kept her and the post office very busy, never missing a birthday card. Nana was an incredible blessing to her grandchildren as she was continually praying for them and their walk with the Lord.

Jackie was passionate about her faith and love of her Lord. Her life was an example of one of her favorite Bible verses Philippians 1:21, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." We are all rejoicing with her that after 42 years, she is reunited with her husband and love of her life, Papa Joe. The Lord was her strength after He took her husband, Joe, home to glory. Christ gave her courage and wisdom as she continued to raise her large family.

Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 11:00AM. The location will be the South Portland Baptist Church, 879 Sawyer Avenue, South Portland, Maine. Pastor Phil Andrukaitis will be officiating. The family invites family and friends for conversation and refreshments to follow at the church.
The graveside service, officiated by the Hall Funeral Home of Waldoboro, Maine will be Saturday June 8, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Fairview Cemetery in Jefferson, Maine. There will be a time to gather and share afterwards, place to be announced later.
