Obituary for Lee S. Harris III
On Wednesday, July 17, 2019, veteran and long-time Boothbay Harbor resident Lee Stout Harris III passed away at the age of 86.
Lee (“Stouty”) was born on January 26, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to Lee and Florence (Murray) Harris Jr. He received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH in 1954, and served a tour of military duty in Asia before embarking on a successful career at IBM and later in investment banking and industrial real estate. He and his wife Pieternella moved to West Boothbay Harbor in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Pieternella den Broeder Harris, his four children, Dana, Jodi, Lori and Chris from his previous marriage to Maryjane Unterwurzacher and their six grandchildren as well as his sister Linda Riley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M at St. Columba Episcopal Church, 32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor, ME.
