Richard F. Johnson Jr., 93, passed away on November 22, 2019 at his home in
Waldoboro. Richard was born on January 12, 1926 to Richard F. Johnson, Sr. and
Florence (Matson) Johnson in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Richard attended local schools and graduated from Worcester-Polytech Institute, with his
BSM in mechanical engineering and obtained his Masters from Drexl in Philadelphia,
PA. He retired as a Vice President of Engineering. . He joined the Air Force and attained the
rank of Staff Sergeant.

He spent his off time sailing sail boats, travelling and discovered model railroad trains.
He was a member of the Nativity Lutheran Church in Rockport, Maine.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, and a brother and sister.

He is survived by his wife, Joan R. Johnson of Waldoboro, ME, son David R. Johnson of
Rockland, ME, son Jon M. Johnson (Holly) of Clinton, CT, son Keith R. Johnson (Kate)
of Mill Valley, CA and son Richard F. Johnson, III (Bailey) of Mariaville, Maine.
Grandchildren, Jason R. Johnson, Kelly Carden, Mark B. Johnson, Kristen Laing, Mark
Johson, Heather Johnson, Heidi Johnson Milioni, Samuel Johnson, Richard F. Johnson,
IV, Codie J. Montigny, and several great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nativity
Lutheran Church 179 Old County Road in Rockport.
