When I was growing up on Brookhurst Drive in Dallas TX, Kathy lived at the bottom of the hill. We attended Elementary thru High School together. My first memory of Kathy, was a Talent Show at Hexter Elementary, when her entire family performed an Irish Ballad “Molly Malone”. I was impressed that her family seemed so happy and was so talented.

We reconnected when she was moving to Maine. We had some lively conversations online and I enjoyed reminiscing about stories from growing up.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Kathy and I met at Hill Jr. High School. We were in so many classes together, but especially band. We remained good friends through high school, sharing fun times with a circle of band friends including Per Seaholm, Tom Yenne, Mark Mayerhoff, Sharon Barker. Most activities involved band and frequent gatherings at Howard Rife’s house. Funniest memory—in High School, Kathy and I donned gorilla masks and went trick or treating in her neighborhood. One adult opened the door with the comment, “my, what big trick or treaters.” She encouraged this very quiet and shy friend to be bold and adventuresome.
My condolences for your loss. My one regret—that I never took her up on her invitation to visit her in Maine, a trip I postponed until I would be retired and could visit her in the fall. All my love to Mrs. Brittain, who treated me as a member of the family.
