Obituary

BUXTON- DANA C. BROWN, AGE 59, PASSED AWAY IN BUXTON ON DEC. 7, 2019 AFTER A PERIOD OF DECLINING HEALTH.

FROM JESS BROWN (DAUGHTER)
TO MY CLOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY,

IT'S WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT MY DAD, DANA BROWN, PASSED AWAY THIS PAST SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7TH AT AROUND 6PM. I KNEW THAT THIS DAY WOULD BE COMING SOONER THAN EXPECTED AS HE'D BEEN DEALING WITH MULTIPLE HEALTH PROBLEMS, BUT I'D NEVER THOUGHT IN A MILLION YEARS THAT IT WOULD BE THIS SOON.

MY DAD WAS THE MOST UNIQUE PERSON THAT I'VE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO HAVE IN MY LIFE. MY DAD WAS A MUSICIAN AT HEART, WITH MOMENTS STAINED IN MY MEMORIES OF HIM PLAYING HIS GUITAR, MUSIC FLOODING THE HOUSE THAT I COULD LISTEN TO FOREVER. THE MEMORIES OF MY FIRST CONCERTS THAT HE TOOK ME TO, A WIDE SMILE OF PRIDE ON HIS FACE AS I RECITE EVERY LYRIC TO "5:15" OR "WAR PIGS". HIS LOVE OF RIDING MOTORCYCLES BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF WHEN HE BOUGHT A MOTORCYCLE WITH A BACKBAR SO I COULD BEGIN TO TAG ALONG ON HIS CRAZY ADVENTURES ON THE ROAD. IF THE SUN WAS OUT, THE BIKE WAS OUT, AND THAT'S HOW ITS ALWAYS BEEN (AND ALWAYS WILL BE, OF COURSE).

I COULD GO ON FOR DAYS WITH STORIES AND MEMORIES LIKE THESE, BUT I'LL KEEP IT SHORT AND JUST SAY THAT I WOULD NOT BE THE PERSON I AM TODAY WITHOUT THIS MAN, AND FOR THAT I WILL BE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THE IMPACT AND LESSONS HE'S MADE IN MY LIFE.

FOREVER IN MY HEART ??

FRIENDS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN THE FAMILY FOR A TIME OF SHARING AND REMEMBRANCE FROM 5 TO 7 P.M. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21ST AT THE HALL FUNERAL HOME, 949 MAIN STREET IN WALDOBORO.

Dana Charles Brown, 59, formerly of Waldoboro, passed away on December 7, 2019 in West Buxton, Maine, where he had recently moved. Dana was born in Winchester, MA to Martha (Newhall) and Dennis Brown and was a 1978 graduate from Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro. As an adult he worked in the oil business, first as a Merchant Marine and later gauging tanks on the East Coast while maintaining a strong desire to always be riding his Harley. His talent for music and his quick wit were his calling cards and he will always be remembered for that.

Dana is survived by Martha Brown of Waldoboro, Dennis and Joann Brown of Lexington, MA, Kim Brown and beloved daughter Jesse of Old Orchard Beach, brothers and sisters-in-law, Shepard and Heather of Waldoboro and Alex and Monique of Portland, sister Jeni Dymek of Wellesley, MA along with nieces Greta, Elizabeth and Abby and nephews Oliver and Evan.

Dana also leaves many lifelong friends from mid-coast Maine, especially Storm Hildebrandt, Glenn Chadborne and Bob DeGroff who had Dana in their hearts and minds while his health declined the last couple of years.

Friends are welcome to join Dana’s family for a time of sharing and remembrance from 5 to 7 p.m., on Saturday, December 21st at Hall’s of Waldoboro, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro, Maine.

Halls of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences visit www.hallfuneralhomes.com.

I met Dana and Kim in 1991 in old orchard beach! I dated his neighbor! Dana was kind! Caring! Generous! Loving! Loyal! Always there to listen or help me! He loved my son Brandon Thurlow! Taught him how to play guitar a bit, and gave my son his love for playing still today! Brandon gave him the strong love and respect he received from Dana! He was like family in our lives! He will always be in my heart and memories! Rides to the bike runs, the sheep on the lobster run!?!? I think lol
"Its been 20 minutes" was an inside saying within our small group of friends!
Until we meet again Dana Bona...I loved you with all my heart! Xoxox
