Richard J. Donlin passed away on the morning of December 18, 2019 at his home in Warren, Maine.

Richard was born on August 14, 1948 and grew up in New Britain, Connecticut. He attended New Britain High School where he was a star offensive tackle on the Capital District Champion football team. Richard married his wife Patricia Mulhall in 1972 and soon after they moved to mid-coast Maine to start their family and a landscaping business which eventually became Richard J Donlin Landscaping. For over 30 years Richard worked with both residential and commercial customers, across the state planting hundreds of trees and flowers among other amazing projects. He loved his family, the Cleveland Browns, the Boston Red Sox, the music of Bob Seger and Bill Chinook, gardening with Patricia and going to the beach as often as possible.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Harriet Donlin. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Donlin of Warren; his daughters Sarah Donlin and Catherine Donlin both of Portland, Maine; his son Christopher Donlin, and wife Andrea, their children Kevin, Kyle, Kayla, Kory and Kollin of Warren, Maine; his brother Robert Donlin and wife Casey of Essex, Connecticut; his sister-in-law Beth Hyler of Cushing, Maine; brother-in-law Edward Mulhall of New Britain, Connecticut and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

I went to New Britain High School with Richard & Robert. Richard had as big a heart as his size. He also knew my brother Tony who was in the same class as him. A real happy go lucky guy. It's interesting that he loved the earth and plants. My brother, Tony, started the Urban Oaks Farm in New Britain due to his love of the earth and plants. Must have been something about New Britain that made these 2 people get into that profession. Actually I, myself ended up buying 65 acres in Upstate NY. I was sorry to hear of his passing but looks like he enjoyed doing what he did for all those years. My condolences to his family along with Robert and his family. 2 big men who won't be forgotten.
