William Douglas Kraus, born July 28, 1977, passed away April 26, 2020.

A gentle giant man of Cape Cod and Maine, he loved his family: his sister Arleigh, his brother Dan, his mom Eliza Petrovits, nephews and niece Taj, Uly and Sophia, father Richard and second mom Lynn, aunts and uncles Noni, Lexy, Tina, Genie and Mike, Mark and Valerie, Karen and Edgar and many cousins Haley, Morgan, Chrissy, Ellie, Tasha, Nicholas and Sarah.
He loved ‘his Kim’ and her daughters Sophie and Sadie, his dear friends Ty, Mikey, Justin and Richard, Tiffany and Kristen, the ‘old Aquacultural Research Corp’ crew on Cape Cod, and many more.
He loved his dogs Odin and Booker, Etta and Indie and Skippy and Aurora cat. He loved his horse, Joleen, and he loved the amazing horsewoman his niece Sophia has become with Jo’s help. He loved Fancy, a horse that won his heart for a few short months.
We called him "Willvis."
His voice was so beautiful. Arleigh called him "Wiggy." He had great hair. He loved to laugh at the foolishness of humanity. He loved the woods and would take long wandering walks. He was a dead-eye shot. He could build and repair anything mechanical: simple and complex.
He had an encyclopedic knowledge of WW11, the Korean War and Vietnam. Will was a scrabble master, always finding the most obscure words. He had his maternal grandmother’s love of crossword puzzles.
Will loved his TR6. It was a picture to see his six foot, four inch tall body behind the wheel. He loved the old green Ford his neighbors Stu and Jane gave him. He loved Wellfleet and blue warm summer days. He hated sharks, but they didn’t stop him.
He’d say, “Get in the truck, Odin and Booker. The waves are coming. Let’s go.”
We all love you forever Will.
