Obituary for Orlene C Wadsworth

Orlene C. (LaCourse) Wadsworth 86 yrs, passed away at home on August 22nd, 2020 surrounded by her family. She now awaits for the sound of the trumpet of her Lord and Saviour and will arise in the Resurrection at the last day when our Lord Jesus returns.

Mom was born in Hollis, Maine on July 27th, 1934 the daughter of Edward F. LaCourse and Annie A. (Leavitt) LaCourse. On August 28th, 1955 she married Malcolm Wadsworth of Appleton and they settled in their home in Union. Mom worked at Hillcrest poultry in Union in the 1950’s, Tibbett’s Industries in Camden, Rockland Sardine plants as well as a number of local boarding homes before working most of her life as a care giver in her home until her last boarder passed away on February 28th, 2020. She did a wonderful job at balancing her boarding home in one part of her home while raising her family in the other part of her home.

Everyone enjoyed Mom’s home cooking, especially her homemade stuffing, apple pie, apple cake and coffee bars. She had a big heart and was more willing to give than to receive.

She was predeceased by her 2 ½ year old son Judah Wadsworth in 1971, her parents Edward F. LaCourse and Annie A. (Leavitt) LaCourse, her father in-law Harold Wadsworth, her mother in-law Lottie (Calf) Wadsworth, her sister Orene (LaCourse) Hardy, her Brother in-laws Ed Matthews, Floyd Walsh, Paul Hardy and Arlo Wadsworth, and her sister in-laws Viva Wadsworth Toulouse and Martha Wadsworth.

She is survived by her husband Malcolm of 65 yrs., her sons Michael and his wife Lori of Union, Jerry and his wife Debbie of Union, and Mark of Camden, her daughter Rebekah Kirkpatrick of Union, grandchildren: Julie Wadsworth and her partner Mark Fitzgerald of South Portland, Gloryann and her husband Jonathan LePage of Waynesboro, PA, Rachel Philbrook of Belfast, Saralyn and her husband Jason Burgess of Union, Malcolm Wadsworth and his wife Amanda of Palermo, Shianne and her husband Nathan Tinsley of Union, Samuel Wadsworth and his wife Tanya of Montville, Samantha and her husband Joseph Curtis of Sidney, Christiane Wadsworth of Fairfield, Adrianna Wadsworth of Camden, Mary-jo Wadsworth of Washington, Autumn Kirkpatrick of Union and 21 great-grandchildren, she also considered Joseph and Sebrina Reynolds of Waldoboro her grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Orane Walsh of South Portland, her brothers Edward LaCourse and his wife Elizabeth of Waterboro, Stanley LaCourse of Scarborough, and Keith LaCourse and his wife Lorraine of Saco, her sister in-laws: Beulah and her husband Norman Colby of Swanville, and Anna Wadsworth of Oxford, her brother in-laws Clayton Wadsworth of Orland, Dennis Wadsworth and his partner Leona Grover of Hope and also part of our family Betty McCormick of Union and Peggy Richardson of Union. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends, as well as many many brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Rodney Mayhorn and his team as well as Nurse Karen Jackson for all of their warm and caring support.

Brother Clayton Wadsworth will be officiating the graveside service at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton on August 26th, 2020 at 1 o’clock.
