Obituary for Arthur Reed

Arthur E. Reed, 79, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022 in Boothbay Harbor.

Arthur was born on May 20, 1942 in Boothbay Harbor. He was the son of the late Edward and Virginia (Bartik) Reed. Arthur grew up in Boothbay and graduated from Boothbay Region high school with the class of 1960. Upon graduating he joined the United States Army serving from 1961-1964 and spending two and half years in Germany. After his time in the service Arthur returned to the Boothbay Region and began his work in the construction industry becoming the third generation of Reed’s to work in the building industry.

Arthur and Pam were married for 57 years and very thankful to raise the children in the region. Arthur loved his community and was always looking for ways to give back to the region, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a proud selectman for the town of Boothbay for 9 years; a past Grand Master of the Bayview Masonic Lodge 196 A.F. & A.M; as well as past President of the Boothbay Region Fish and Game club. Arthur was also an EMT with the Boothbay Volunteer Ambulance service and served part time with the Lincoln County Sherriff’s Office.

Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family and loved being able to visit with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking, and being outdoors; fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling.

A celebration of life will be at the American Legion Post , Saturday April 30th at 4:00pm.
