Obituary for Nile Recchia

Thomaston- Nile Recchia, of Thomaston, Maine, passed away at the age of 46.
Nile was born to Michael Recchia and Linda Manzo on December 2, 1975, in Santa Rosa, California,
and grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. He spent significant time in Florida in recent years before
relocating to Maine. He worked for several years at the restaurant Peter Ott’s on the Water in
Camden as executive chef.

As well as a chef, Nile was a talented self-taught musician; he primarily played guitar, had an
excellent singing voice, and composed his songs, which he performed in several venues in the
area. Some of his music is available on YouTube. He enjoyed cooking and few could keep up with
him in a fast-paced kitchen. When he wasn’t cooking and singing, he was devoted to his children
and spent many hours with them. As a child, Nile was joyful and rambunctious, and as an adult, he
filled up a room with his larger-than-life personality and his quick sense of humor. A child of God, he
will be missed by his friends and family.

Nile is preceded in death by his mother Linda, and his much-loved grandparents, Lillian and Joe
Mesarich, his grandfather Daniel Recchia and grandmother Virginia Dollar.

He is survived by his four children: daughter Riley Recchia (20) and son Keller Recchia (13), and their
mother Amy Jenkins; and daughter Lucy Recchia (10) and son Elliott Recchia (5), and their mother
Jonie Dishner; his father Michael Recchia and stepmother Molly Recchia; brothers Radley Manzo,
Dylan Recchia, Remigius Recchia and sister Mireille Recchia; uncles William Colocchio, Raymond
Gauthier and Brian Longley; aunts Leslie Tracey and Barbara Recchia; nephew Dylan Jr. and nieces
Isabella and Sydney; cousins Danielle, Lucas, Karissa, Justin, Alan, and Eric.
