Obituary for Neil Lloyd Pollis

Neil Lloyd Pollis, 68, of Union, passed away on March 3, 2023 at his home with his family. Neil was born on December 1, 1954 to Lloyd A. Pollis and Donna (Harrington) Pollis in Augusta, Maine.

He attended local schools in the Fayette and Livermore Falls area and graduated from Kents Hill High School in Kents Hill. He was a Pine State delivery driver and worked at the old Maine State Prison in Thomaston. He was most recently the Shellfish Warden for surrounding towns.

Neil was a true outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing, camping, white water rafting, and cookouts. He also enjoyed motorcycles and woodworking.

He was a Mason and veteran of the Navy and law enforcement. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service medal.

Neil was a generous man. A true teddy bear, rough on the outside with a heart of gold. He was the perfect Dad and was very family oriented and was a jack of all trades.

Neil was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Donna Pollis, his brother Lloyd Pollis, II, his sister-in-law Darcy Pollis, his wife Linda Pollis and his best friend Dale Gardiner. He is survived by his fiancé Kelly Malkoch, his five children, Matthew Pollis, Chris Pollis, Benjamin Pollis, Heather Barton and Jennifer Hunt; 5 grandchildren; sister Karen Lucarelli; brothers Craig Pollis and Keith Pollis; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his pets Charlie, Sophie and Honey.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hall’s of Waldoboro, 949 Main Street, in Waldoboro. A gathering for family and friends will be held at his home at 3393 Heald Highway, in Union following the service.

A burial with military honors will be held for Neil at the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 9:00 AM.
