Dr McCarthy was and always will be a loving and spiritual person that I will forever remember with fondness and respect. My only regret is that I did not have the opportunity to experience his character as a person more often than I did. You try as a parent to bring your children up in a way that will enhance them as individuals so they can become people like Eugene McCarthy. Eugene provided the script to attend BC High and his conversations with my teenage son has had incredibly lasting impressions which I anticipate will shape him to becoming the spiritual man that he envisioned. I had so looked forward to seeing my son graduate from BC High with Dr Eugene McCarthy in attendance but knowing my son now, I'm sure he knows that he will be. Not many people can have such an influence on shaping a person or family but Eugene has in so many ways provided a positive direction for my family and more specifically my son. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, Eugene McCarthy will be missed but never forgotten, RIP. Bill Mitchell
