Obituary for
Robert Jeffrey Frazer
Robert Jeffrey Frazer died Wednesday January 7, 2015 at his home in Wiscasset, Maine after a long and brave battle against cancer. Jeff was born on May 9, 1957 to Robert N. and Jeanne (Peck) Frazer, the fifth of their seven children. He grew up in Groton, MA where he attended local schools, graduating from Groton High School in 1975.
Jeff was a life-long fan of rock music and an accomplished bass guitarist, who played in several local bands in Massachusetts and in Maine. He loved living in the Boothbay area where he’d spent much of his childhood, summering on Ocean Point. Jeff was a natural athlete and loved playing baseball. He had always been an avid New England sports fan, and he especially enjoyed rooting for the Red Sox and the Patriots. He worked various jobs, including working his grandfather’s orchards in western Massachusetts and lived a short time in Montana. After settling in Boothbay, Jeff worked as a carpenter, enjoyed working as a Barnstormer and as an independent contractor, but was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and associates when needed. His carpentry displayed a remarkable creativity, which highlighted his skill in fine cabinetry and his ability to transform a few odds and ends into the most wondrous items. In addition, he also enjoyed gardening, was known for making a great spaghetti sauce, and he loved to be outside tinkering on anything he could get his hands on. Jeff was deeply loved by his family and friends and is most remembered for his love of life and joy in having a good time and a good laugh.
He is preceded in death by his mother Jeanne Peck Frazer. He is survived by his father Robert N. Frazer of Scarborough, his fiancé of many years, Pauline Brewer of Wiscasset, his son, Joe Frazer and his daughter, Ashley Frazer both of Edgecomb. He is also survived by his brother Jim and his wife Patti Frazer of Pepperell, MA, and his five sisters, including:
Bonnie and her husband Stuart Bennett of Cheshire, CT
