Obituary for Franklin William "Bill" Creighton

Franklin W. “Bill” Creighton, 91, died September 23, 2015 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough. He was born in Rockland to George and June Andrews Creighton. Bill grew up in Milton, Massachusetts, and attended Massachusetts schools. He graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Bill served in the Coast Guard during WWII and in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1953. He started working as a marine engineer for Bath Iron Works and later with Marine Colloids in Rockland. He taught at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine for over twenty years.

Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 37 in Thomaston and the Rockland Lions Club. Bill enjoyed traveling and sailing all over the world. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne Turner Creighton and brothers, Everett and James Creighton.

He is survived by his daughters, June Moraros of Gorham and Carol Worster of Winterport; son, Eric Creighton of Bangor.
Grandchild, Corey Worster of Kansas and four great grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 a.m., October 3rd at Village Cemetery in Thomaston. Pastor Wayne Sawyer will officiate.
