Jan and I became acquaintances when I moved to Boothbay Harbor and started walking around the Harbor most days. Jan was frequently outside (in good weather) tinkering with some project and it didn't take long to start chatting with her. She was tuned into the appreciation of the beauty of nature and Harbor life ... and she would tell you how the simple things in life could give so much pleasure. She always tooted the horn on her car and gave me a big wave and smile if she passed me walking. Those simple memories will stay with me, especially when I walk around the Harbor past her home.
Rest in Peace. God will take care of you.
