John B. Putansu, Jr. formerly of Belfast passed away on August 17, 2016 in Holden, Maine. He was born on January 25, 1925 in Portsmouth, Virginia to John B. Putansu and Olga Oksanen Putansu.

John lived in Belfast before moving to Holden, Maine. He has resided there for over 10 years. He was a very happy guy who loved children. He was very social and loved to go for rides. He was a friendly good person. John was a member of the Citizens of Maine group where he had many friends.

David and Vicki Chambers-Wood have been his loving caretakers for over 10 years.

There will be a graveside service for John on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. to be held at the Wileys Corner Cemetery in St. George with Reverend Walden Chandler officiating.
