My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Dad. I will always hold a special place in my heart for both Bob and Mary Jo. They were very special people who touched the lives of many. Their kindness and guidance will continue as we remember them and their faith. Love, Ann.
I thank God for Bob who changed my life as a Chritian when he was pastor at Mt. Olive United Methodist church in Randallstown, Maryland. He will always be remembered with love.
Bob was my District Superintendent when I first came into ordained ministry. He was very kind to me. He encouraged me, and supported me, so that I got off to a good start on this journey of pastoral ministry. I remember him very fondly.
Bob was the senior pastor at Westminster UMC when I joined the church. The first time we talked he identified my call to the ministry. Later he introduced me to Mary Jo who shared her call journey with me. These two faithful people of God were instrumental in helping me answer my call. When I was ordained, they sent me an oil lamp with a note, stating, "Let your light shine." They certainly did. I miss them.
Our family met the Rev Zimmerli's several years ago at the East Boothbay United Methodist Church. They had such a great passion to serve the Lord. We remember seeing Bob in some parades and library lawn concerts over the years....always with that great big smile as he was playing the drums. Peace and comfort to the family and the Boothbay region on the loss on one great man.
Bob Zimmerli was a man of deep faith, who devoted his life in service to his fellow man. His rich life experiences enabled him to minister to anyone in any circumstance in life. For me he was a loving mentor, a gifted pastor, a person of great humor and a champion of my efforts to minister to the people of the Boothbay region. Bob has now received his just reward and I am sure is together once again with Mary Jo in the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. I pray for Wes, Laurie, Lisa and Ann for the days ahead that they might find comfort in the legacy their parents created and in the knowledge they are now stars in God's heavens.
I worked with Bob and Mary Jo in the late 1970's. They were an outstanding couple, and they will be missed by many, though now reunited. Sending lots of love and blessings to Wes and Laurie.
In the late 70's the Zimmerli family taught me many lessons about life, love, and caring for others without losing myself. I doubt that any member of the family knows what a difference they made in my life. Thank you all for your gifts.
Bob and Mary Jo are back together again living a new life in the love of one another and more importantly the love and grace of God. May God continue to bless Wes and Laurie now and in the days to come.
My love to all of you. Jennie
