We have not talked in a long time time but I will always remember when we were young and always getting into trouble, you are the closest I have had to a brother, and i wish we could have had more time. I hope you have found your peace. I'm going to miss you.
Thank you to Langston Hughes for the language...
“I loved my friend; He went away from me; There's nothing more to say. The poem ends, Soft as it began- I loved my friend.”
I've been thinking of you everyday.. I can still remember your contagious laughter when I caught my kitchen towel on fire and you had to put it out.. I didn't realize I would miss you as much as I do.. Rest in peace, Damir..
We are so saddened to here of Damir's death. We struggle to make sense of it all. I remember when Damir first came to you. What a happy memory I have of him excitedly playing with our dog, Trey. He so wanted one for his own, which you happily gave him not a month later. You are such loving parents. God bless you both. You are being lifted in prayer.
Sweet nephew,
We didn't spend as much time with you as your Maine friends and New England family. But your two cousins here in California are adrift, knowing they will never build a driftwood fort or play fruit ninja with you again. The first time we met you, you were the smiliest 3-year old boy, perched high on a kitchen stool doing dishes at the sink! Your astounding work ethic, your beautiful smile, your sweet nature, always amazed us and made us so proud to know you. You have the best parents in the entire world. Our hearts are shattered. We love you, we love you, we love you always Damir! -Aunt Lauren
I did not have the opportunity to know Damir, but I know how totally my cuz Barbara and her Chris loved him, and I know what beautiful and loving people they are. With that much love, he must have been a great kid. That makes his death all the more tragic and the pain of his loss all the more unbearable. Those of you who are close by, please give Barbara and Chris all the hugs and help you can. Know that there is profound sorrow and deep love coming your way from Kentucky.
