Obituary for Helen R. Eugley

Helen R. Eugley
Helen (Ralph) Eugley of Waldoboro and St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully Saturday, September 17 in Largo, FL surrounded by her family. She was 85.

Helen was born on May 21, 1931, in Waldoboro and was the daughter of Harold and Maude Ralph. On September 10, 1950 she married the love of her life, Maynard Eugley, at her parent's home in Waldoboro.

Helen attended Northeastern Business School in Portland, Maine and used her education as a partner at Harold C. Ralph Chevrolet with her husband and brother Ronald where she was known for her business sense and work ethic.

Helen was a Worthy Matron for the Grand Chapter of Maine Order of the Eastern Star and donated to many charities throughout Maine and Florida.

Helen attended First Baptist Church of Waldoboro, Orff's Corner Community Church in Orff's Corner, Greater Mt Zion AME Curch in St. Petersburg, and most recently attended services at the Seminole Pavilion Rehabilitation Center where she resided while recovering from a stroke.

Helen enjoyed listening to live music (especially at church), spending time with friends, traveling, shopping, dining out and playing cards. At the Pavillion Rehabilitation Center, Helen's charisma and charm made her room the center of activity for the medical staff during their breaks. She was an avid jigsaw puzzler and looked forward to her daily bingo games in the activity room. When Maynard was alive, they were avid dancers and loved going with "the crowd" to either Lakehurst or Sylvania dances followed by an early breakfast at one of the "crowd's" houses! She and Maynard often entertained especially at their summer cottage on Damariscotta Lake in Jefferson. In retirement they wintered in Madeira Beach, FL. After his death, she spent winters in St. Petersburg to be close to her daughter.

Helen is survived by brother Ronald Ralph and wife Claire; sister Greta Crabtree and companion David Sidelinger; brother Harold Ralph Jr. and his companion Alice Turner; sister-in-law Janet Spear and husband Robert; her daughter, Lori Eugley Sisler and husband John; granddaughter Cassandra Wills and husband Andrew Coulliard, grandson Robert Wills and wife Melody,
2 great-grandchildren, also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by granddaughters Lexi (Maltese) and Gracie (Yorkshire Terrier) who comforted her whether she was hospitalized or at home.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; brothers-in-law Raymond Eugley, Richard Crabtree and Robert Bagley; sister-in-law Dorothy Eugley Becker and husband John and very dear friend Lorena Pearson.

Visiting hours will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd at Hall's Funeral Home, 949 Main St, Waldoboro, Maine. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24th at the Orff's Corner Community Church, Route 32, in Waldoboro, ME with interment at the Orff's Corner Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Orff's Corner Cemetery fund or the Orff's Corner Community Church.

Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle for Helen, or to share a story or pictures, visit her Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com
