Glenn Anderson Murdoch, 63, of Bremen, passed away on August 12, 2019, while working on his boat in Round Pond. He was doing what he loved in one of his favorite places. Born in Newton, Mass. on September 17, 1955, to Logan and Constance Nichols Murdoch, Glenn was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. Not long after graduation, he came to the mid-coast where he had spent much time at his family’s home in Round Pond. He worked for more than 30 years as a pipe fitter and brazer at Bath Iron Works. In 2003 he met the love of his life, Robin Shott, and they were married in 2014. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and took pleasure in being on the water in his boat and outdoors in nature, riding his motorcycle, and listening to music. Glenn was a gentle and kind person and was well-loved by his family, friends, and co-workers at BIW. He is survived by his wife Robin of Bremen; his son Ian Murdoch and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Friendship; his daughter Leah Murdoch of Waldoboro, his step-daughters Emily Elliott of Bath and Sara Golaski of Maui, HI; his granddaughters Natalie Murdoch and Aria Davis; and his sister Elaine Murdoch and brother-in-law Ray Menard of East Boothbay. His family would like to express its deep gratitude and appreciation to the many people who engaged in the week-long search for Glenn, especially members of Bristol Fire and Rescue and their Chief, Paul Leeman, and the officers of the Maine Marine Patrol. Their dedication, professionalism, and compassion during those sad and difficult days will not be forgotten.
Friends are invited to gather with Glenn’s family for a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at The Chamberlain House at 1313 Rt. 32 in Round Pond.

It seems that Round Pond Harbor is a magical place, as all of us who were lucky enough to spend summers there, still hold a connection to this amazing place that touched so many, so personally. Glenn was moved by Round Pond too. He devoted his life to boats, not only as his occupation, but also as his passion. It is sad for us all that Glenn has gone so suddenly. His quiet, friendly nature and his love for the ocean will always be remembered. I hope Glenn has endless halcyon days filled with blue skies, blue water, tall pines, with the whole day to do as he pleases from sun-up to sundown. Rest well my friend.

My condolences to Robin, Elaine and all the Murdoch's family members . My brother Kevin and I have known Glenn since we were little kids spending summers in Round Pond . Kevin who is closer in age to Glenn spent most of his vacations with Glenn as his best summer friend engaging in countless adventures daily! In our adult lives, my wife Ramona and I spent time with Glenn and Robin for dinners and fun times at the Schooner and Lobster dinners on the dock in Round Pond. Glenn was a gentle soul for sure , understated and quiet. Ramona and I had dinner with him and Robin and Kevin and Fran just a few weeks before he passed. We will miss Glenn greatly and hope all the great memories of his enjoyment of life will ease the family's pain . RIP Glenn , you will always be missed and never forgotten. Tim McCarthy

Dear Elaine and Family-
So very sorry for your loss of Glenn. I do remember all of us Round Pond summer kids sharing good times together on the shore-
boating, swimming and picking berries behind your house. There were beautiful summer days on Round Pond Harbor, which seems Glenn chose to cherish later in life with his boat moored there. Sorry I am not able to attend your family service. May your memories ease your sorrow in time. - Marcia Meg Davison, South Portland, Maine
