I was sad to hear of your passing and just got notice from ATO. I'll always appreciate your high moral character and leadership during my tenure at the house from 75-78. You were a class act and its no surprise that you and Tony were so successful with the Ocean Point INN. I fondly remember a weekend road trip to the hotel in the winter offseason. Much beer was consumed. Rest easy my friend you deserve it. Youre one of the good guys!

Dave was one of those people that taught me good work ethic, something he modeled so well. Dave was my first employer and there haven’t been many more like him throughout the years. Beth, I’m so so sorry for this difficult time in your life I hope all the happy memories of your times together bring you peace.

I knew Dave in the late 60's when we were in the same fraternity at UMO. The fact that I haven't seen him in 50 years but still remember him now is testimony to the impression he made on me. An intellectual gentleman who was kind and funny; a truly remarkable combination. Thank you, Dave.

Hey Dave, I can hear your infectious laugh in my head right now.
Dave was my bunk mate in the ram at the ATO fraternity house and I first met him at freshman orientation at UMO in the fall of 1965 and we kept a close friendship until I left Maine to run after a PhD in Massachuetts. He hired me as a dishwasher the summer before my departure. My wife Jo-Ann, son Jason and I stayed in an apartment at Ocean Point that David took over after I left. Jason learned to walk that summer. I really enjoyed some comforting times with David and the owners when we had our meetings after a long day of work at the Point. I tried to see him several times over the years, but never had the luck of meeting up. He was a treasure to so many, an intellectual powerhouse, a tireless proprietor, and had a deep passion for living on the coast of Maine. All of us will miss you Dave. God bless you Beth. I wish Dave could have given us an introduction, but I hope your future path is smooth, the wind at your back, and memories of Dave fill your sails for the rest of your life.

As a freshman at the University of Maine in 1968, I pledged Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Dave was the “pledge trainer” for my class. He was a man of character and caring and helped to bring my early college experience to a special level. Our world has a limited number of truly great people; Dave was definitely one of those.
